In 2005, 15 years after learning to weld, I started RLO Metal Sculpting. My sculptures tend to represent some aspect of the human condition. For example, how we separate from our true self or others, or how we choose to give and receive life’s gifts. My larger pieces are akin to quilt making - I methodically connect forms together until they are whole. With my smaller figurines, I like to show the subtleties of movement. I use both an electric arc and gas torch welder and work in brass and steel.

I have sold work through commissions and benefits and have been in the Durham Arts Council and the Cary Fine Art League Juried Competition.
