Kent Corley
At its most concrete, a photograph is a document of a single point in time. This evidence becomes memory and ultimately shapes our understanding of the past. Being at least half sentimentalist, I aim to explore the intersection of documentation and art, to dig deeper and impose order in chaos or abstraction from form: exploring the infinite possibility contained in a fraction of a second. Using both modern and traditional processes, I encourage the unexpected, embrace the imperfect and aspire to make images that communicate where words may fail.
Kent Corley is a photographer based in Hillsborough, NC with a career spanning over 25 years. His commissioned works have included campaigns for local, national and international clients as well as non-profits and universites. In addition to photography, Kent works as a musician, occassional filmmaker and voiceover artist.
